How to know your EGG is half boiled

medium_negg31.jpg

The eggs are marked with logos in "thermochromic" invisible ink, which turns dark when it reaches a certain temperature.

Inks have been created to appear after three minutes to indicate a soft-boiled egg, after four minutes for medium and after seven minutes for a hard-boiled egg.

Shoppers will be able to buy the eggs of their choice in cartons marked "soft", "medium" or "hard".

The project was launched by the quality assurance scheme Lion Quality Eggs in response to thousands of people asking how to boil eggs properly.

Nano Technology

Paint-on semiconductor outperforms chips from PhysOrg.com
Researchers at the University of Toronto have created a semiconductor device that outperforms today's conventional chips -- and they made it simply by painting a liquid onto a piece of glass. The finding, which represents the first time a so-called "wet" semiconductor device has bested traditional, more costly grown-crystal semiconductor devices, is reported in the July 13 issue of the journal Nature. The magic spoon

What is a spoon and not a spoon? A MIT design project to put sensors to a spoon, a traditional untensil, to measure temperature, acidity, salinity and viscosity through a cable to a computer. So a single scoop of the spoon will tell what are the properties of it immediately.

Hey wait, put a wireless chip in it and let it detect posion, unhealty food, too hot food etc., like in ancient times using a silver needle to test for posion in food.

Bendable Clock

E Ink announced the demonstration of the world's first flexible clock using an electronic paper display (EPD). This unique clock offers a thin, lightweight, fully flexible form factor combined with substantially lower power consumption over traditional displays through its use of E Ink Imaging FilmTM.

With a thickness of 3.0 mm, a weight of 1.5 kg and a battery life that is 20 times longer than conventional digital clocks, this revolutionary clock also can be bent significantly while operating. Furthermore, the use of electronic ink in the clock display enables a wide viewing angle of approximately 180 degrees with a bright, high contrast look, allowing for high visibility in either a dim room or under direct sunlight. These benefits allow the clock to be installed in locations that would otherwise be difficult with other technologies.
